Semin Tunalı

Semin Tunalı was born in Eskisehir in 1981. She began her music education with private piano lessons that she started to take when she was 7 years old. After being graduated from highschool she continued her undergraduate studies in Galatasaray University Law School. She had her first master degree on private law from Queen Mary University of London and worked as a legal consultant until 2015. She studied classical and jazz harmony with Güç Başar Gülle and in 2016, she started a masters in musicology at İTÜ Dr. Erol Üçer Center for Advanced Studies in Music where she had a scholarship. She submitted her master thesis in 2019 on threshold of plagiarism in music with the advisory of Assoc. Prof. Emine Şirin Özgün Tanır. On the other hand, she took several roles in the music industry and in music organizations as booker, manager, editor and copyrights counsel. She is the founding coordinator of the online music school established under the collaboration of Turkish Music Academic Circle (TUMAC), Prof. Ruhi Ayangil and Mimsanat Academy. Since October 2021 she is a PhD candidate in the department of Musicology and Music Theory at Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music Conservatory, a lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi University Music Department, and the coordinator of Bilgi Music Label.
